Who checks your credit
LoanAdvice is a website operated by Four Nine Nine Ltd. We are not a lender, a broker or an agent for any lender, we do not make credit decisions, and we do not obtain your credit report. The lending partners and the matching partner that receive your request through this site, together with their service providers, may verify the information you submit by obtaining credit reports, credit scores and identity verification data. That can include inquiries with the major consumer reporting agencies, TransUnion, Experian and Equifax, and with alternative consumer data sources.
Your authorization
By submitting a loan request on this site you give your express written consent, under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), for the lending partners and the matching partner that receive your request, and their service providers, to obtain consumer reports and other information about you from consumer reporting agencies and other sources, and to use that information to evaluate your request and to verify your identity. This authorization covers only those parties and only that evaluation; it does not authorize unrelated access to your report, and it is separate from any consent to be contacted, which the request form asks for on its own. You also authorize them to share the outcome of that evaluation with the matching partner that operates the request form, so that your request can be routed to a lender able to consider it. LoanAdvice does not obtain your consumer report.
Hard and soft inquiries
A credit inquiry can be a soft inquiry, which is not visible to other lenders and does not affect your credit score, or a hard inquiry, which is recorded on your credit report and can lower your score for a time. Some lending partners begin with a soft inquiry and perform a hard inquiry only when you accept an offer; others perform a hard inquiry when they evaluate the request. A hard inquiry may occur when a lender evaluates your request, before you receive or accept an offer, and may affect your credit score. Review the credit-check disclosure shown before submitting your request. If you do not agree to a disclosed hard inquiry, do not submit to that lender.
Reporting to credit bureaus
If you accept a loan, the lender may report your account, your payments and any late or missed payment to consumer reporting agencies. Failure to repay can be reported and can harm your credit, and the lender may pursue collection as permitted by law. Borrow only what you need and can repay. Short-term loans offered by lending partners are meant to cover a temporary need and are not a long-term financial solution.
Withdrawing your request
Submitting a request does not obligate you to accept any offer. If you do not want a lending partner to proceed after it has received your request, contact that lender directly; Four Nine Nine Ltd cannot cancel an inquiry a lender has already made.
